Has the women's revolution diminised Sunny's impact on the women's division?

Post NXT and women's revolution, the women's division has drastically changed. The women were finally being taken seriously by management, and were given freedom to showcase their talent after years of struggle. The women are now competing in high profile matches, and are headlining shows and ppvs. Since women are no longer hired based on their looks, aren't called divas, and are no longer doing T&A matches/segments, Do you think that Sunny's (the self-proclaimed original diva) impact on the women's division has diminished? Do the women of today have any reason to respect her and look up to her? What are your thoughts? :newspaper:

Edit: Btw, I'm talking about Sunny's impact from WWE's point of view. She must have made some sort of an impact in their eyes to consider inducting her in the hall of fame.

I don't think Sunny made that much of an impact, for me Sable or Chyna (maybe Chyna's impact is not in the term of diva but as a woman she left her mark) had a bigger role in the conception of the diva term than Sunny. Anyways, women like Sable, Jacqueline, Chyna (I guess Sunny too for some people)... paved the way for future generations and, yes, just for that they should be respected even tho they didn't do the same as the 4HW

I mean...Sunny's impact on the women's division had diminished as soon as Sable stepped onto the scene.

Sunny may have paved the way for the 'Diva' image, but Sable capitalised on it and pretty much did everything better than Sunny had done in her time. Sable was more charismatic, more sexual and definitely tougher than Sunny was.

This

There wasn't an impact in the first place.

I never have and never will really count Sunny as having an impact on the women's division. Sorry. :newspaper:

Absolutely. It's a shame that Sable and Chyna still haven't been inducted into the Hall of fame :(

To have an impact on the division she would've had to wrestle at least, which she didn't. She was on the other side, managing wrestlers.

Sable did it all and better - wrestled, won the title and was insanely popular.

Look up to her? I don't know how nobody clocked her during her HOF speech back then. An absolute embarassment for the business and for the female half of the world population. Compulsive liar with a giant ego. I'm getting hot over her tired ass...Bye. We're MUCH better now. God bless!

She has wrestled. I've seen matches before, they were a mess. I just can't take her serious after the decline she's had - even saying that women have no place in a wrestling ring or some shit.

I'm here for the Sable praise though. Maybe if we say her name three times in the dark, Brock will release her from jail

Sunny likely only got in the HOF as the "first diva" because Sable turned it down. Sable created the diva blueprint that very much still exists today.

Also, just because I made this topic about Sunny doesn't mean that I'm also talking about the impacts/contributions of Sable, Chyna, etc. This topic is about Sunny only. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding.

The only impact Sunny has had is from the men she let lay up pon her.

The first pic makes me uncomfortable in the fact that those women standing behind her, actually have to stand behind her while she gets recognized for something each of them were better at than her, in one way or another. It's eerie.

She never wrestled in WWF/E while she was there (later did at WM 25). Only in ECW and WCW after she left, so whatever impact she had during her time in WWE was not in the ring.

Sunny didn't have that much of an impact in the first place, Yes she was really hot at the time, but they gave her the accolade of HOF for simply being the first one. if we're discussing impact, Sable had huge impact. The only thing I feel this womens wrestling era damages is the 2008-2013 era, because fans just think after Lita and Trish left, everything went to utter shit, because OF WWE. But, that was hardly the case, we had laycool, we had the tables match, Melina vs Michelle NOC 2009, AJ lee and Eve's work with top guys, and total divas bringing in new story lines for the women, the women were restricted.

Plus, I've never heard of a diva credit Sunny, because what would you credit her for..

All this Sable praise. Is it my birthday or something?

Also, the only impact Sunny's had is on the psyche of the poor souls who decided to watch her porno.

    • Sunny Explains Why She Is Not a Fan of Women’s Wrestling
      By 𝓐𝓷𝓭𝓻𝒆𝓼
WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Lynn “Sunny” Sytch was a recent guest on The Ross Report with Jim Ross and discussed her current website, how she started in the wrestling business, getting hired by WWE, and more. Sunny had some choice words to say about the women’s division, current roster, and her personal opinion on women’s wrestling in general.
      Here are the highlights.
Sunny shares her thoughts on “Divas” vs. “Women” and the current roster:
“Honest to God, I don’t really watch the show that much so I don’t really know everything that’s going on, but I do have it on tonight and right now the girls are on. I think they shouldn’t get away from the ‘Diva’ thing completely, because I think there should be both. I think there should be women wrestlers and champions and then there should be Divas. I think there’s a place on the roster for all of them. Do I think its overkill with how many girls are there right now? I think three was a much better number [back then] than, what is it, twenty something that they’ve got right now? I think it’s a little bit overkill. I really think it’s too much. I honestly do.”
Sunny gives her stance on women's wrestling:
“Am I happy that more girls in the business that bust their a** are getting shots? Absolutely, I’m happy with that. Have I always been a fan of women’s wrestling? No. And I’ll tell you why. When there are some guys that can go out there and sell a dropkick like they’re dead, but then these girls pop right back up from all these bigger moves. It just makes it a little unbelievable. Why should a frail girl, and I’m not saying they’re all frail, but they’re much smaller than men, how can they be more resilient to some big moves than some of these guys?

“So I think there’s a lot lost in the psychology of wrestling because of that. I mean, they’re doing, you know, 18,000 moonsaults and moonsaults from the outside from the top and popping right back from it, when guys are doing the same thing and selling it for five minutes. That’s why I’ve never been a huge fan of women’s wrestling. Is there a place for women in wrestling? Abso-freaking-lutely. But, I don’t know, I think something is missing in the psychology of women’s wrestling, I really do.”
      - Sunny also thinks Chyna should be in the Hall of Fame, saying she “should not be judged” for making a sex tape.
