78 posts in this topic

She reflects on her Divas title match against AJ at Elimination Chamber 2014 above. Thoughts?

I will say that I think Ariane has gotten much better at interviews/seems to have matured and gained a bit of perspective. :newspaper: You can see both sides of the coin, AJ really didn't seem close to any of the other girls/was obviously a little elitist and I'm sure wouldn't mind letting the girls look a bit dumb, but at that point Cameron had been working a bit and should've been able to hold her own. Her saying her stomach was hurting to avoid training/putting spots together before the match :rot:

I don't think it's that big of a deal it just seems AJ was hesitant working with Cameron versus someone like Naomi who was obviously more experienced. I mean I could see what Cameron was saying but at the same time, it's not like this was her second match on the roster where she still needed some guidance. Although a little bit would have helped she was already showing growth around that time so she should have been able to hold her own. "Tough love" is the proper term to use because at some point someone one is going to take that into consideration and that's all you will get.

The stomach part took me out AJ didn't want any parts. :michael:  Just thinking about that match was supposed to be against Naomi still gets me tight they would have snapped in that match.

Generous Goddess AJ letting Cameron do her only move even tho she was sick :crying:

Anyways what is Cameron's excuse for her other matches being shit :curious:

I see where she's coming from. However, Cameron should probably dial it back a BIT because If I remember correctly that match wasn't even advertised. So AJ really could of skipped it if she wanted to, but it sounds like AJ pushed through whatever she had so they could both have their moment on the PPV.

Godsuka vs. Cameron outsold and outstrihmed any AJ match after Payback 2013. She was a victim of the system!

Kyle’s thread serving even more purpose now. The division NEEDED a level headed locker room leader like Eve. Maybe we’re crying

It’s really not surprising based on how she worked.

Her teasing a return to WWE at the end like they want her ass back :ahh:

OT: Not surprised that AJ was difficult to work with Cameron. You could tell sis had no respect for the girls that couldn't go in the ring.

Anyway i hope this interview gives her what ever little lick of exposure she needs

This is her experience with AJ so I won’t knock it, nor will I really take it as that’s how AJ really was. :frecklefox: AJ not wanting practice with her is a mess though, she practiced with Eva so maybe she just had diff expectations for Cam.

Wasn't this around the same time period Punk left WWE and was super sick?

I kind of do wish she did come back because I think she had a very strong character and would’ve done magic as a manager for someone.

i really don't think it's that deep. she just said aj was having an off day, so wasn't feeling up to practising a match that isn't gonna lead anywhere, which is fine. it is a tad bit suss that aj wanted the hit to the stomach but besides that, it's not even that shady or even a drag. she basically just said what happened.

also, the timing was around when punk left, so i don't doubt that she didn't care that much. it's not like cameron looked bad, she looked as decent as she always does.

no drama to be found here, just a lil' bit of info was shared

Also with AJ being bi-polar, she could've been in her depressive cycle, hence her not feeling up to practicing a match. I mean she was open and willing when working with Eva Marie, who was roughly around the same level(and that's being kind to Eva) skill-wise as Cameron.

    • Why is AJ Lee so in demand?
      By Cooksie
Though her wrestling career is well in her rear view mirror, the WWE Universe is the clingy ex-girlfriend that just keeps leaving voicemails.

From fans, talent to (seemingly) the company itself, ahead of the upcoming all women's pay-per-view, WWE Evolution, fans have been clamoring for an appearance of some sort from iconic three-time Divas Champion, AJ Lee. AJ, now known professionally as AJ Mendez (her real name) has been working in promotion of her New York Times best-selling memoir, Crazy is My Superpower, and as a mental health advocate since leaving WWE in 2015.
Names such as Raw Women's Champion Nikki Bella, Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins and a WWE.com poll that was posted across all of WWE's social media pages had fans salivating at the idea, to which AJ has yet to really respond, it being understood that her stance towards the company hadn't really changed despite some fond memories.
So, this begs the question: why is the demand for AJ so high? Do fans not have closure due to the abruptness of her departure? Has it been recognized that she is of more worth than frequent returnees and company acknowledged "GOATs" such as Trish Stratus or Lita? Is the larger demand outside of our women's wrestling forum due moreover to her marriage to disgraced UFC fighter CM Punk? Or can no other girl compete where they don't compare? Or rather compare where she no longer competes?
Additionally, is this outward desire above all other choices productive as it pertains to booking potential returnees for Evolution? Would it be better for fans to put eggs in a basket still open?
      Discuss.

      By Eric
August 26, 2013, AJ Lee TORE the Divas Division A Much Deserved New One!
August 26, 2013, the beacon of light for during that time AJ Lee tore the diva's division a much deserved new one. Shocked and confused as to why AJ turned down the opportunity to become a cast member of the hit reality show Total Divas, Vince granted AJ the opportunity to explain herself LIVE on Raw where she delivered one of the most bone-chilling DIVAS promos of all time which was named soon after the Pipe-Bombshell.
Let's take a moment to reflect on this historic moment that will forever be in the books as one of the greatest promos of all time.
