Kenny Omega Officially Signs With AEW

Kenny Omega has officially signed with All Elite Wrestling.

Omega made his first appearance for the promotion at tonight's AEW Double Or Nothing Ticket Announcement Party at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. He said he and his friends will now be able to show wrestling fans what "change the world" means.

Omega noted that he didn't sign his AEW contract until this morning. He became a free agent on February 2 after his contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling expired. Omega reportedly turned down a significant offer from WWE to join his friends Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks in AEW.

Omega was billed as an Executive Vice President, the same title that Cody, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson all share. Omega also said he is a full-time wrestler for AEW.

Omega was confronted by Chris Jericho at tonight's event and the two tangled for a minute on the stage, setting up their rematch at Double Or Nothing on May 25 in Las Vegas. Then-IWGP United States Champion Omega defeated Jericho in a No DQ match at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 12 event in January 2018.

Rumors is stating Vince McMahon only offered him $900,000 but AEW offered him double digits in millions plus creative freedom. Via Dave Meltzer. Vince you tried.

Creative freedom never works out well, they are also spending a lot on these contracts. I wish them luck though because competition is always beneficial for the product.

I’m interested I think I could stan. I’m really not gassing up AEW yet until I see production quality and the rest of this roster.

Let me corrected myself he is getting double digits millions meaning 10 million dollars. But he has a good job in being a Vice President and doubt he would abuse his power. If only Switchblade wasn't get a heavy push in Japan, then I would have love to see him join his Bullet Club familia.

There was definitely no question that he'd join his friends in kick starting a new promotion. This way he can truly be one of the centerpieces. He's done good work in Japan and really all he could do for now in NJPW. I've got to laugh at the people who thought he was going to WWE. Bitch, you thought...ksjdskdjfksjdflksdfk

What’s the female roster!

Yuka Sakazaki and Aja Kong will face each other, not sure if they'll be FT signees or just partner with the promotion for now. Kylie Rae is officially signed, as well as Nyla Rose.
