The following tweet got me thinking:

Who's really the best villain within the realm of science fiction and fantasy media?

Personally, I have to say: Poison Ivy. She has all the qualities a villain really needs: sensuality, subtle yet great and dangerous superpowers (super strenght is so OUT), won't stop at nothing to obtain what she wants, and doesn't do much, if not any of the dirty work, because she has a "servant" for it! Plus, I think her personality and manners stick out from the rest: she's very, very cunning, and linking back to the "dirty work" bit, an instigator, meaning that she plants the seeds (no pun intended) and people do the rest for her to get her prize, whether it's beating people up or pitting men against each other for pure entertainment. And she lowkey stole Joker's girlfriend, so... The Queen ♡

Characters with the human power of manipulation. Like The Joker or Cersei.

The way they wouldn't have anything if it wasn't for their ability to make people believe that they have to do something.

I’d have to give this to the Court of Owls from the New 52 Batman comics, they’re just so intriguing. They’ve introduced them into young justice now as well so I’m excited to see how they go. For mainstream media though I’d go with Thanos because I genuinely wanted to see him lose.

Voldemort being the only logical answer.

Thanos having a point of view that people found relatable removes him from the equation.

The first name I thought off when I saw the thread title was Glory from season 5 of Buffy.

From the OP, it’s def He Who Shall Not Be Named.

fhskjdgfdgdhgjdgh, screaming. Her death was fitting, I guess. For someone who slayed at playing the game, how unceremoniously she died, kinda makes sense even if it was super unsatisfying.

Anyway, I feel like I really have to think about this one. I enjoy grey characters, more antiheroes, and someone like The Joker definitely springs to mind because of the chaos and mind games that ensues. However, I'm also tired of these types of villains as well lately.

I kinda wanna say Voldemort because, bitches can't even say his name, that's how terrifying he was.
