Before I get to the votes, if anybody has a Hidden Immunity Idol and would like to play it, now would be the time to do so.

*Ari stands*

The rules of Survivor state that if anybody plays a Hidden Immunity Idol, any votes cast against them will not count and the person with the next highest number of votes will be sent home.

This is a Hidden Immunity Idol. Any votes cast against Ari will not count.

Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the Tribal Council area immediately.

Well as far as idol plays go, that's about as successful as they get. It's certainly been a VERY interesting week on the island, but it's not quite over just yet.

Grab your torches and head back to camp. Goodnight.

Tribal Council #9 - City Hotties

First, let me start with @Ari M.. Congratulations on winning and being safe for a second time! I'm sure you likely felt you needed it. Talk us through what you can of events/your thought process at the last Tribal Council that led to the outcome we saw, please.

@Angelic, you were the majority answer for some pretty negative questions, suggesting you don't deserve to be in the game, you're the least liked, you have no idea what is going on and you're the most irrelevant. What do you have to say in response to these, if anything?

@Puggle, you were an answer for the nicest and the most liked, but you were also the answer for who will win if nobody stops them, who is in fact a pawn rather than in control, and who should expect to be blindsided if they don't make a move. Do these concern you?

@Mariah., you, along with everybody else, voted for Ari at the last Tribal Council but were you aware he had and/or was going to play the idol? How have recent events affected your relationship anyhow?

@Gavin, the questions you were a majority answer for were pretty indicative of how people seem to view you as a threat. Most alarming of all, you tied for who they'd love to see go out next, however Ari is safe this time and you're not. Do you think that means it's you tonight? And what words do you have to say to your tribe if they're indeed considering sending you out of the game again, so soon after you fought to come back?

And @Katy, you were an answer for most of the same questions as Leigh, so I'm curious about the same thing, but more importantly, you were also the majority answer for who the others would like to sit next to in the finals. This can really be interpreted dozens of ways, so what do you make of it?

You have until 8PM ET tomorrow to send me your vote in your assigned confessional PM. You cannot vote for Ari and you cannot change your vote after sending. If you don't send me a name by the deadline, your vote will turn into a self-vote, where it will be counted as a vote against you at this Tribal Council.

I had a very, very strong suspicion, which many including Ari himself can confirm. But I put a tiny bit more faith in him vowing to play an honest, upfront game than I probably should have. Glad that claim is out the window, poor his "do-gooder" pal. As for where we stand now, while it definitely hurts to lose someone who was not so secretly my #1 ally and now I'm left essentially stranded literally on my own, I think this side to Ari is kinda a turn on!

To give a bit more detail/insight, I voted for Ari because he asked me to!

It's possible, but they put me as most trustworthy also so hopefully they see my loyalty and that I can be a valuable ally in this game. If they do send me home though, I'll take it as a compliment since they seem to be threatened by my challenge skills. :sandra:

Your relationship with Ari doesn't extend to being allies? Not the most important man in your life?

The latter statement is true, but I think you have to be able to 100% trust an ally. Last week proved that I don't know if I can...

You mention that as a possibility, which it certainly is, but is it one you feel you perhaps need to act in order to prevent? Or would you rather just accept it, should it be the case? One would think being voted out once already could make you more eager not to have the same thing happen again or to waste your second chance.

Very well. What do you make of the questions you were the majority answer for? Biggest strategic threat, biggest social threat, most liked, most trustworthy, and who the tribe would want to be stranded on an island with.

A very smart cast!

Seriously though, I think it really speaks to my game play this season contrasting my game play in season one where I was far more openly cutthroat. All those titles are completely justified because despite being strategic, social and looking out for myself foremost naturally, I really feel like I've played an honest game and haven't screwed anyone over or done something I've said I wasn't gonna do. And it's nice to see that being recognized.

That's nice. As we get closer and closer to the end, do you feel you'll be able to continue to play like that for the rest of the game? Assuming you obviously aren't looking to go anywhere anytime soon.

Thank you sir. My mindset with the last tribal council was basically just self preservation. I wasn't 100% sure that I was up to get voted out last tribal, but I've been noticing a bit of a voting bloc with a few of the last votes so I knew my time was coming and I wanted to shake things up a little bit rather than quietly waiting for my turn to be voted out. Brandon just seemed like the best target to take out, because he had that double vote power. So unfortunately I had to manipulate the tribe a bit to get them to vote me out so that I could use my idol and get him out, and in the end, my plan worked so that's basically how it went down.

Yes. My focus at this point is winning individual immunity for my own peace of mind. The rest of the chips will fall where they're meant to naturally.

Well I don't particularly have anything to say except that every iconic contestant on a show wasn't liked. Tiffany Pollard for example. Everyone in the house disliked her, but she WAS the season. I gave this season the most iconic night thus far with the simple press of a button. And they're welcome for that.

I didn't come here to be liked, I came to win. And judging from the last Tribal Council, placing your trust in someone and believing them probably isn't the wisest thing for me to do anyway. I may not be the most relevant, but I am the most reliable and loyal, and that's just gonna have to be that.

My initial thought was that people think I'd be easy to beat in the end. I haven't won any challenges, except when I was with my old tribe. I've pretty much been on the bottom the entire time. It makes me wonder if maybe I should try to make a big move. I just don't know who I could trust to do that. If I reached out to someone, and they're working with someone I might want to target, then that just puts the target on me and I'm probably getting the boot. It's risky, and the way this game is going, I could already be next and them saying they want me in the end is just to mollify me.

Only about five and a half hours left! Who will take the crown of Sole Survivor? Everyone is invited to join me here tonight at 7:30PM ET for the winner reveal, followed by a bunch of other stuff. Don't miss it!

    • HB Survivor: Exile Island | Discussion
      By Shoaib.
It's been a minute but the hit competition game is back. Five years after the first season kicked off in summer 2014, I'll be hosting again!
The game will be identical to Survivor—the show on CBS—in most aspects, but everything you'll need to know can found here.
      FORMAT
Those who make the cast will start the game in evenly split tribes, either assigned randomly or based on a yet to be determined theme that'll be announced along with the final cast. Each round/cycle, these tribes will face off in an Immunity Challenge. The winning tribe each cycle will be safe, while the losing team must participate in a Tribal Council and vote to send one of its members home. Once the numbers have dwindled to around 8-12, the two tribes will merge and it becomes an individual game. Each challenge from then on will be every man for himself, and only the winner will receive immunity in the upcoming vote. Once only two or three people are left, the remaining contestants will be turned over to a jury of their peers for one final Tribal. The contestants who have been voted out since the merge get to come back, question the remaining players, and ultimately vote to decide who wins the game. Throughout the game there will also be a number of bonuses that can help turn the tide in your favour, from hidden immunity idols to added challenge rewards that can prolong your stay. A variety of twists may also be implemented when you least expect them.
      DATES AND SCHEDULING
The official start date of the game will be announced during the cast reveal within the next two weeks, but I'd like it to be as soon as possible. The season will last approximately 4-6 weeks depending on how quickly each cycle goes and is expected to begin by mid-June, so if you know you can't commit to the full length of the contest, please make a note of it during your application. Not being available won't immediately bar you from making the cast as most situations can probably be worked around. If you've signed up but have to back out of the competition for whatever reason, please let me know as soon as possible so I can arrange for a replacement!
      RULES
While this game doesn't have any unique rules, forum rules do apply and you can receive warning points if you go too far. Drama and arguments are fine within the context of the game, please keep it at that and try not to make things personal. This game is solely for fun and bragging rights, not a million dollars, so try your best to keep things from getting too ugly.
      ACTIVITY
If you sign up for the game, it's expected that you participate. I understand that it's summer and you may have other things to do, but this shouldn't take up much of your time. The challenges will be fairly quick, and tribal will take place over 24 hours, so you have plenty of time to post something. The only way everyone will remain interested is if we keep the game fairly paced.
      CASTING
To sign up, please send me a Private Message with the following template filled out. Applications won't be accepted after June 9.
      Sign-up template:
Spoiler Name (real or user, what you'd like me to use during the game):
      Timezone:
      Member since:
      Previous experience (in HB games):
      Closest friends on the forum:
      Biggest enemies on the forum:
Three words to describe yourself (words, not a sentence):
Top three WWE women (past or present, in order from most to least liked): 1. -- 2. -- 3. --
Why you think you will be the Sole Survivor:
Not everyone who sends in an app is guaranteed to be cast. If you don't make the initial cut, it isn't personal, it just means someone else may have fit the desired theme more than you. It also doesn't mean you won't be playing. Sometimes things happen and people have to drop out, and someone who wasn't originally cast gets their time to shine.
Finally, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me in this thread or via PM. I hope we can all make this game's return a success and create some fun memories, much like we did for the last two seasons!
