IMPACT Knockout Jordynne Grace revealed on Twitter an encounter with former ECW star Sandman, where Sandman apparently told Grace that it was “wrong” that women were headlining an event, and that any male wrestler with experience would agree.

Several industry stars like AEW world champion Chris Jericho and IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion Will Ospreay responded by disagreeing with Sandman’s views, with Ospreay declaring that women pro-wrestlers are pulling off more innovative matchups than ever before.

he attacked this poor stripper and made her cry when she was just trying to do her job so it's not surprising he hates women!

Sandman probably still thinks it’s 1998.

King Sandman didn’t lie. The Knockouts are shit and have no business in the main event! :terri:

Out of all the ECW people, I'm surprised this bitch doesn't have Alzheimer's yet, although with these comments, maybe he does :frecklefox:

Here's an update:

Over the weekend, IMPACT Knockout Jordynne Grace posted on her Twitter slamming ECW legend Sandman, who told her, Taya Valkyrie, and Tessa Blanchard that woman do not belong in the main event scene in pro-wrestling. Blanchard would also call Sandman out on his comments later on during a WrestleCade event.

Sandman recently appeared on Busted Open Radio to tell his version of the story, where he claimed those weren’t his full words, then go on to praise the women’s wrestling scene of today.

Quote

The bottom line is all I said was ‘I don’t think that most fans are ready for girls to be in main events, that’s it. There are so many girls that totally deserve to be main eventers in all different kinds of organizations from WWE to AEW. They’re so good right now, it’s absolutely incredible but no, I absolutely don’t think like that and that’s just the way it is.

Sandman would also state that he doesn’t know who Jordynne Grace is, as he never spoke to her.

Quote

I know that I never talked to that girl. I was not talking to 4 women ever, I do not even know who that girl is.

Grace would later call in to Busted Open Radio give more information about the confrontation from her pespective:

Quote

He did not just say it to Taya and that is not the only thing he said. I didn’t go into the whole conversation on social media because it was about a 10-minute back and forth thing that went off,” she said on the show. “It was me, Taya and Tessa all standing around talking. The Sandman comes up to Taya asks her what match she was in, she says she’s the last match, he says ‘the main event?’ and she said ‘yeah, the main event’ and he said ‘excuse me?’ and we all just kind of stared at him, no clue if he was joking or not, and he said ‘you know that’s wrong, right?’ Looked at every one of us, then he started talking about the WrestleMania main event and how bad it was.

Show host Bully Ray would ask why Grace decided to post about the situation on social media. Here was her response:

Quote

I said ‘just watch the main event’ so I feel that was a little more respectful way to say that. He didn’t watch the main event and so that’s why I decided to post what I did on social media,” she answered. I’ve never been that disrespected to my face before.
