Obviously already shared my overwhelming happiness for what this means for THE WORLD, but one thing I'm really curious to see is how this shapes pop culture since shit like this always does. I feel like Trump's reign of terror is what made horror movies become really huge again, for example. And superhero movies kinda shifted during his reign too, compared to how they were around Obama and Bush.

I think superhero and horror/apocalyptic films will maintain their mass appeal as escapist media. Might be too early to tell but I believe most current trends will continue, in addition to East Asian cultural exports expanding their reach as China competes with the US as a global superpower.

I said it in Discord too, but I see music changing the most. Hip hop will still be dominant, but I think the dark, cynicism will start to phase out and we'll see more party anthems in that regard, while pure pop and maybe pop rock make a return to go with the optimism. It's definitely not a coincidence that dance pop TOOK OVER when Obama became president.

THE important takeaway from this election result, in my opinion, is the first woman to be the vice president, who is simultaneously the first Black and East Asian vice president. Of course, Tr*mp getting the boot is nice, and there's a lot that our president- and VP-elect will have to fix and prove to the voters, but her win is historic and something to truly celebrate. About damn time!
