Alter Egos

Posted Image

Roman Zolanski

One of Nicki Minaj's alter egos; he is Minaj's most well-known and utilized alter ego, as well as her self-professed favorite. Zolanski is described as an orange haired homosexual male from London, England, characterized as being far more outspoken (and perhaps malicious) than Minaj herself. His first appearance in a song was in "Bottoms Up," a song by Trey Songz.

Posted Image

Barbie aka 'The Harajuku Barbie'

One of Nicki Minaj's longest lasting and most famous alter egos. Nicki the Harajuku Barbie accentuates the qualities of an imaginative, fun, coquettish girly girl-fashionista, that loves all things pink. This is also the muse who ignites the transformation of Nicki's performances as an R&B/Pop singer and future Rock Star Icon.

Posted Image

Nicki Lewinsky aka 'The Mistress'

One of Nicki Minaj's best known alter egos, active primarily when she was an underground artist. Nicki Lewinsky is characterized by her sexually explicit and very daring lyrics. She is often compared to Minaj's equally outrageous alter ego Roman Zolanski, but is notably less aggressive and more raunchy. Lewinsky, like Zolanski, is featured in many of Minaj's songs. When Minaj became more mainstream, she let go of the Lewinsky character because she felt the racy lyrics were not appropriate for younger fans. In the song "Dear Old Nicki," she raps about how she has changed from the ghetto fabulous Nicki Lewinsky to the global superstar Nicki; the song also questions if her old self is on hiatus or truly dead.

Posted Image

Nicki The Ninja

An alter ego of Nicki Minaj who appeared mainly at Minaj's mixtapes when she was an underground artist. Ninja is described as a hip hop lyrical assassin sometimes very naughty, who appearances in songs is due Ninja's "homicidal" lyrics with rude and tough verses that mostly dismiss other people, commonly haters of Minaj. The tune of Ninja in her appearances is generally quiet and calm but she also raps similar as Minaj and just mentions herself.

Martha Zolanski

The mother of Roman Zolanski. Martha was introduced early in the video productions of Pink Friday, becoming most known for her part in "Roman's Revenge" where she yelled at Roman and Slim Shady at the end of the song and commanded the both to go to bed and wash their mouths with soap because of their disrespectful and aggressive words and statements.
Martha was first visually introduced in the music video for the third single "Moment 4 Life" from the Pink Friday album. Martha was introduced there as a fairy godmother who visits Nicki, known as "King Nicki" in the video, on the big day where she was getting ready to marry Drake in Moment 4 Life.
