Heartbreakers Royal Rumble 2020 | Io Shirai wins!

It's back! The yearly extravaganza that's been going strong for over seven years now. If you've participated in a Heartbreakers Royal Rumble event of some kind before, you'll probably know what it consists of. If not, here's a brief overview of how it works:

The Heartbreakers Royal Rumble (abbreviated to HB RR) is an annual event at Heartbreakers which is separated into two stages: The Preliminaries, and The Rumble.

The Preliminaries is where 100 women's wrestlers get narrowed down to just 35. Throughout the span of the next twelve days (December 12 - December 24), all 100 women will be pit against each other in matches.

The Rumble is where the chosen 35 women's wrestlers compete for glory! From December 24 - 31, I will ask you, the member reading this, to send me in a list that ranks each of the women involved from 1st (gaining 35 points) to 35th (gaining 1 point). From January 1 onwards, the numbers start to whittle down as one by one, women in the HB Rumble get thrown out of the ring and onto the floor; as we eventually find out which woman will be crowned the winner of the Heartbreakers Royal Rumble 2018!

And in case you're wondering, your participation is completely encouraged in this game! I want you guys to get involved in every step of the way, from voting in The Preliminaries to voting in The Rumble! The last few years wouldn't nearly have been successful without member participation!

This year, the preliminaries will consist of ten women per round battling each other for three coveted spots in the Rumble. Below will serve as an example of how this round will go:

      Spoiler

      Random

In this round, you would vote for the three women you want to see advance. The three women with the highest scores will make it to the Rumble. See the below as an example of what a vote would consist of:

      1st. AJ Lee
      2nd. Aksana
      3rd. Alexa Bliss

As AJ Lee was placed 1st, she'd get 3 points.
As Aksana was placed 2nd, she'd get 2 points.
As Alexa was placed 3rd, she'd get 1 point.

      ____________________________________________________

By the end of the round, the votes should look something like this:

      1st. AJ Lee (30 points)
      2nd. Aksana (24 points)
      3rd. Alexa Bliss (23 points)

      4th. Alicia Fox (22 points)
      5th. Aliyah (15 points)
      6th. Alundra Blayze (14 points)
      7th. Ashley (8 points)
      8th. Asuka (2 points)
      9th. Bayley (1 point)
      10th. Becky Lynch (0 points)

As AJ, Aksana and Alexa are all in the top three, they would advance to the Rumble. The other women will compete for the last remaining spots in the Wildcard Round.

In the event of a tie, the woman with the most 1st place votes will advance. If the tie is still present, the woman with the most 2nd place votes will advance, and so on.

Below is how the Wildcard Round will play out.

In this round, you would vote for the ten women you want to see advance. The five women with the highest scores will make it past the Wildcard Round and to the Rumble. See the below as an example of what a vote would consist of:

      1st. AJ Lee
      2nd. Aksana
      3rd. Alexa Bliss
      4th. Alicia Fox
      5th. Aliyah
      6th. Alundra Blayze
      7th. Ashley
      8th. Asuka
      9th. Bayley
      10th. Becky Lynch

As AJ Lee was placed 1st, she'd get 10 points.
As Aksana was placed 2nd, she'd get 9 points.
As Alexa was placed 3rd, she'd get 8 points.
And so on, with Becky Lynch getting 1 point.

I'd use an example but listing 100 names would be way too much. Just imagine that AJ Lee, Aksana, Alexa, Alicia and Aliyah all got the highest number of votes, and would therefore make it to the Rumble.

In the event of a tie, the woman with the most 1st place votes will advance. If the tie is still present, the woman with the most 2nd place votes will advance, and so on.

Any further questions, feel free to ask!

The match-ups won't be based on alphabetical order, either. That would be too predictable. With that said, you'll find out the first match-up tomorrow at 6PM GMT!

And just for nostalgia's sake, I even managed to delve through past HB Royal Rumbles, should you want to see how those turned out!

Some parting words from the host to wrap this year up? Of course! I was lowkey worried about how this year would turn up because last year's HB GRR was, imo, a flop. Th

I'm also happy to reveal that I've received 32 lists for this year's HB Royal Rumble! 7 more than the previous HB Greatest Royal Rumble Many thanks to @Mariah., @Cryst
