Diva stipulation match rumoured for Summerslam

      Recommended Posts

Regarding Paige vs. AJ Lee and Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, word is that both of those matches will be some kind of gimmick match.

If true this is fucking amazing, chances are it will be a submission or no DQ match. I'm hoping for the latter but both would be amazing. This marks the first proper divas stipulation match since TLC 2010 or Extreme Rules 2011 if you count the Loser Leaves WWE match between Layla and Michelle McCool. AJ and Paige will own and slay in this type of environment.

The source also states in regards to Brie and Stephanie:

Word came out this weekend that Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella may actually take place at Night of Champions in September instead of Summerslam in August. We should know more after tonight's RAW.

waiT, isn't she already a heel?

      I'm guessing it's a submission match.

That was my first guess as well but i'm hoping it's no DQ tbh. We haven't had a serious all-out stip match for years and these two would fucking own it.

If a Submission Match is done right then yeh I guess.. But I always imagine Submission Matches being long drawn out matches full of holds and that's not the type of matches I like watching.

I agree with this. I mean, I'm down for a submission match for the sole fact that we're getting a stipulation match but I get bored when Divas use rest holds in a 5 minute match. A match where the point is to put a diva in a rest hold just sounds meh to me.

If done right, it could be awesome don't get me wrong but if not :sweep:

I wish they would do a FCA match  :smh2:

Submission Match seems more than likely .

I would love to see a No DQ , FCA , Last Women Standing , Street Fight .  :newspaper:

If I really had to choose though I would pick a No DQ . I always went with a Submission match because that is more than likely to happen.

While appearing as a guest on WWE Backstage, Charlotte Flair was asked to look back at the five year anniversary of #GiveDivasAChance, along with Paige. Most notably, Renee Young immediately credits AJ Lee and her pipebombshell, along with the Bella Twins, for getting the ball rolling for the revolution. Paige piggy backs to say AJ Lee was the first person to really make people take notice of the division, namely with her mic work (it's AJ who, in her opinion, is the best woman ever on the mic). Charlotte and Paige then both talk about how while they were in NXT, they saw the women on main roster not getting time to wrestle, so they strived to change that. Charlotte then continues off of Paige's point about AJ Lee to say that the women before AJ definitely had the talent and weren't really given the opportunity to show it, but it was AJ who started the trend of being a distinct, unique character, which snowballed into what was seen on NXT; from that point forward the women weren't just groups of women thrown together. Then from there, every opportunity the girls were given, they just continued to deliver.
Paige then goes on to talk about the pressure to live up to the hype following #GiveDivasAChance despite remaining cynical about being given opportunities, but says the Horsewomen came up and kept stealing the show, which elevated the women around them's in ring performance, namely the Bella Twins. Charlotte agrees and says the women all made each other better.
